Dalisa Bennett
Dalisa Bennett, founder of DB Elegance, LLC, was born and raised in Hayneville, Alabama (Lowndes County). Her passion for the hair industry began in childhood, leading her to attend cosmetology school in 2020. She graduated in 2021 with 1,500 clock hours and became a licensed cosmetologist in 2022. In January 2020, Dalisa Bennett became Secretary of the Julius Bennett Hope Scholarship, working alongside Shernovius Bennett (Director) and Lisa McDay (Co-Director). Established in May 2020 in honor of her grandfather, Julius Bennett, the scholarship supports young adults striving to exceed expectations and give back to their communities. Although Julius Bennett passed in 2023, Dalisa remains deeply committed to preserving and advancing his legacy through service, leadership, and community engagement.
In November 2023, Dalisa graduated from the Torchbearers Leadership Montgomery Class XV. She is currently continuing her education at Alabama State University, majoring in Graphic Design. At ASU, Dalisa serves as President of the Student Art Organization, Treasurer for two campus organizations, and Student Representative for the Visual Art Department for the 2025–2026 academic year. She was also crowned Miss Blue and White 2024–2025 for Phi Beta Sigma, Inc., Gamma Beta Chapter. In addition, Dalisa is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) and has consistently earned placement on the Dean’s List each semester with an outstanding GPA.
Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Dalisa serves as Secretary for The Queen’s Table, a women-led nonprofit and community experience created to celebrate, connect, and uplift Black women. Through curated gatherings and intentional spaces, The Queen’s Table provides opportunities for women to network, build meaningful relationships, and support one another in both personal and professional growth.
In Fall 2025, Dalisa joined Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., Delta Rho Chapter, further expanding her commitment to professional development, leadership, and service. As a full-time entrepreneur, Dalisa Bennett continues to serve her community while intentionally growing her brand and uplifting others through education, creativity, and empowerment.
